ABSTRACT
\nGE\u2019s advances in gas turbine technology are being
\napplied to its operating fleet of MS5001 turbines in
\nthe form of uprate and upgrade offerings. MS5001
\nowners benefit from the opportunity for increased
\noutput, reduced NO x and CO emissions, increased
\nefficiency, extended inspection intervals, improved
\nreliability and operability, and modified exhaust air-
\nflow and exhaust temperature.
\nThe primary offering is the \u201cNew-Tech Uprate\u201d,
\nwhich includes the advanced-technology combustion
\nsystem with the new-technology nozzles and buck-
\nets. This uprate package utilizes technology advances
\nas developed for the modern GE fleet of new-unit
\nturbine offerings. It provides customers with the
\nopportunity to increase firing temperature for a sub-
\nstantial gain in output and fuel efficiency, in addition
\nto extended maintenance intervals.
\nGE continues to develop new products for the
\nestablished turbine base. Several new products have
\nbeen developed in the past few years: breech load
